Kacey Czosnowski

Kacey Czosnowski grew up in South Bend, Indiana, wanting to become an actor and work as a performer. She moved to New York in 2009 and graduated from the New York Conservatory for the Dramatic Arts in 2011. Struggling in the starving artist lifestyle and attempting to find herself, Kacey set out to explore other endeavors including writing, meditation, and aerial arts (pole dancing, lyra, and hammock). Gaining confidence and strength from pole dancing, she auditioned and joined The Complete Theatre Company where members performed in a black box theatre every other month, showcasing original work and some short scenes. Unfortunately, with the pandemic, the company had to shut down and Kacey continued writing short form content and acting in small projects. Start From Here is Kacey’s first full length play. In between auditions and writing, she currently works at a gym and produces a small podcast with a fellow film student called Morphin’ Buddies, where they discuss each book in the Animorphs anthology and how they would make it work as a tv series.

START FROM HERE

Blurb

Molly and Lawrence met when she was a student in his writer’s workshop. Shortly thereafter, they were involved in a romantic relationship until a traumatic incident disintegrated what they had. Molly and Lawrence have not spoken in nearly ten years since. Now Molly is moving away and wants to reconnect with Lawrence before she leaves the state. While begrudgingly, Lawrence agrees, allowing her into his home one last time where they discuss their 30 year age gap, process long held regrets, and bring to light the pain of things left unsaid. This story aims to explore the complexities of different relationships in our lives and how grief and guilt can manifest in different ways. While nothing is simple, the struggle of the human condition and the power of closure makes the pain and process worthwhile.
